Foster children deserve the same things that all children need: a nurturing family, a safe place to call home, and an opportunity to fulfill their lifelong potential.
The reality is that the foster care system is imperfect, and too many children are falling through the cracks:
- One in five foster children experience homelessness between the ages of 15 and 18.
- 65% of foster youth experience 7 or more school changes throughout their childhood.
- 70% of sibling groups in foster care end up separated due to a lack of foster parents willing to care for multiple kids.
Thankfully, Miami is home to Florida Foster Care Review. For more than 35 years, FFCR’s volunteers and staff members have been ensuring the safety, stability, and success of thousands of foster children across Miami-Dade County.
Our goal is nothing short of ensuring every foster child in Miami has access to the resources they need, a path to success beyond their time in the foster system, and -- most importantly -- a forever family to call their own.
