I’m writing today with something both simple and deeply personal to me.

Florida is home. It’s the place that raised me, shaped me, and taught me that our people’s power is not theoretical — it’s real, it’s growing, and it’s worth fighting for every single day.

At Florida Rising Together, we are organizing in one of the most challenging political landscapes in the country. And yet, despite the noise and the narrative, I see something powerful happening:

People are refusing to give up on each other.

Every day, our members are:

• Building multiracial coalitions in neighborhoods that pundits have written off.
• Knocking doors where democracy is under attack, not retreating from the fight.
• Protecting tenants from predatory landlords and demanding real housing justice.
• Registering, re-registering, and re-engaging voters in a state working overtime to silence their voices.
• Creating art, joy, and community in the face of policies meant to divide us.

Give Miami Day is one of the most important moments of the year for grassroots power in Florida.

It’s the day when thousands of people across the region decide what kind of future we’re building — and who deserves to be resourced to shape it.
