FAMA FAMILY DAYS

FAMA held its first family-focused event during the Miami Fiber Triennial in July of 2026. We invited children and caregivers to experience the Miami Fiber Triennial through guided artist tours, participatory art-making, and interactive learning activities inspired by the exhibition.

FAMA founders Aurora Molina, Alina Rodriguez and artists Xonia Regalado and Shelly McCoy led guided tours of the exhibitions, facilitated hands-on art activities for young participants to encourage creativity, collaboration, and sensory exploration

Families enjoyed refreshments, prizes, and a welcoming environment that encouraged community participation and intergenerational learning.

Donations for the Family Days will allow FAMA to hire artist members to lead these events on a regular basis.

FAMA Fiber Fest: Family Days at the Library: Weaving Creativity, Stories & Community

These family days, presented by the Fiber Artists Miami Association (FAMA) , transform the library into a vibrant hub where contemporary fiber art, literature, film, environmental awareness, and cultural heritage come together to inspire creativity and strengthen community connections.

FAMA Fiber Fest, reflects FAMA's mission to foster artistic excellence, cultural exchange, and community engagement through fiber arts. It advances our commitment to making textile art accessible, relevant, and participatory. It uses fiber as a vehicle for placemaking and community building, inviting residents to see their local Downtown Miami not simply as a backdrop, but as a place of creativity, cultural memory, and collective identity.

FAMA partners with Miami-Dade Public Library, MDPLS to offer free, family-oriented programs that bring together fiber art, creativity, storytelling, books, and hands-on learning. This collaboration reflects the Library's commitment to providing meaningful cultural and educational experiences that inspire creativity and connect residents with the Library's resources and services.
