Amelia for the Miami Children’s Chorus

For over 60 years, the Miami Children’s Chorus has served as the fabric of youth arts education in South Florida - and an impetus of impact on my own life. My participation in the organization from ages 9-18 completely transformed who I am: its value system rooted in commitment, community, equilibrium, and discipline has influenced me well into adult and professional experiences. 

I am proud to be from my hometown; I strongly believe that Miami is so special because of its eclectic culture. Art, music, language, and collaboration are the foundational pillars of this culture, and teaching our kids how to embody this artistry is what sustains our community as so vibrant. 

Through MCC, I established some of my closest and most meaningful friendships, traveled to incredible places like Australia, grew up being guided by strong female mentors, and—from a very young age—was empowered to use my voice. It was a rich, formative education that resulted in a lasting impression; I wholeheartedly could not recommend it more.
