$50,000 Raised for YWCA!
As Give Miami Day comes to a close, I wanted to send a sincere thank you!
More than the $4,150 raised on my personal page, I am touched by the FORTY TWO people that said yes and donated.
YWCA ended up raising over $50,000 and Give Miami Day as a whole hit a new record at $43 million (yes, million!) raised across all 1,300 nonprofits!
Thank you for your support of me, of YWCA of South Florida, and most importantly, of all the women and families who will now have more opportunities because of your investment.
I appreciate you!

P.S. ... and because of a little friendly competition for the greater good, you helped me claim the top fundraiser spot across the entire board of directors! 🏆
We all have a woman in our life who leaves us in awe—a woman whose strength, resilience, love, and power inspire us to be better. For me, that woman is my mom.
A first-generation Cuban immigrant, my mom was raised by parents who worked tirelessly—her mother as a school secretary and elevator operator, her father as a bartender and waiter—just to make ends meet. Despite the obstacles, she became a lifelong public servant, dedicating over 38 years to Miami’s children as an elementary school teacher and librarian, all while raising four kids of her own.
She didn’t just teach in a classroom—she taught me what it means to lead with purpose. She showed me the power of using your voice, the joy of doing what you love, the importance of giving back, and above all, the courage to follow your dreams.
Now, I imagine a world where every woman has the same chance to rise—to thrive, to lead, to live life on her own terms. That world is possible, and it’s being built every day by organizations like YWCA of South Florida.
As a proud new board member, I stand with YWCA in their mission to empower women, and unlock the full potential of every girl and woman in our community. I invite you to join me in honor of the woman who inspires you.
