URGENT: Spay & Neuter Needed for Seven Piglets Born to Star From the Plantation Rescue
These seven piglets were born to Star, one of the mothers saved from the horrific Plantation cruelty case. Star entered rescue malnourished, frightened, and fighting to survive. Shortly after being brought to safety, she gave birth to her babies, piglets who never should have had to start their lives in danger.
Today, Star is finally safe… but her piglets urgently need spay and neuter surgeries before they reach mating age.
Piglets mature extremely fast. Without timely surgeries, they face:
dangerous early pregnancies
life-threatening health risks
behavioral issues
a higher chance of being surrendered or abandoned again
FARA is 100% volunteer-run, and we are already carrying nearly $5,000 in medical debt from emergency cases this year. We simply cannot take on the cost of seven surgeries without community support.
Spay & Neuter Costs for Piglets
Spay and neuter surgeries for piglets around 15 lbs can range anywhere from $300 to $1,000 per piglet.
Males cost less (around $300-$500) because the procedure is simpler and lower-risk.
Females cost significantly more (up to $1,000 each) due to the complexity and surgical risk.
These prices DO NOT include:
anesthesia
medications
pre-surgery exams
vaccines
transport to and from the vet
This means the true cost is often much higher, especially for females — and we have six females and one male.
Meet Star’s Babies
We’ve named three so far:
Bruno (male)
Bandit (female, black & white)
