Established by the Public Relations Society of America's Miami Chapter in 1985 in memory of Miami public relations pioneer Everett A. Clay, the Ev Clay/PRSA Miami Chapter Endowment Fund awards scholarships to outstanding students of public relations to support excellence in the profession.

In 1940, Ev Clay founded what is today Florida's oldest public relations firm. EvClay Public Relations, now led by daughter Dana Clay, APR. Ev Clay believed strongly in the principles of PRSA and incorporated them fully into his professional life. He was a founding member of PRSA Miami Chapter, established in 1955, and received the chapter's first lifetime achievement award. In 2000, the fund was recognized as a 501c3 not-for-profit corporation.

Since 1985, PRSA Miami Chapter has honored Ev Clay's memory by awarding more than $325,000 to 180 students studying public relations at South Florida colleges and universities. Today, the chapter endowment exceeds $400,000, making it the largest PRSA chapter-operated scholarship fund in the nation.
