The majority of adults with cognitive and intellectual disabilities are unemployed, despite their yearning and ability to work. Unemployment of adults with intellectual disabilities is more than twice as high as the general population. Our Grounds is a non profit coffee shop that provides vocational opportunities for adults with intellectual and cognitive disabilities. At Our Grounds coffee, we focus on ABILITIES not disabilities. At the coffee shop, we provide on the job training AND paid employment. Team members learn skill sets from therapists, restaurateurs and other professionals in our community. We brew coffee, community and kindness!
