Undies for Everyone gives kids in crisis something small that makes a huge impact: a week’s worth of brand-new underwear. It might not be the first thing people think about, but for kids living in poverty, experiencing homelessness, or entering foster care, clean underwear can change how they show up in the world.
Rice University found that kids without enough underwear are 65 percent more likely to be held back, 44 percent more likely to skip activities, and 42 percent more likely to struggle making friends. It’s a big problem with a surprisingly simple fix.
We work directly with schools and child-focused agencies so underwear gets into kids’ hands quickly, quietly, and with dignity. No hoops. No barriers. Just comfort when they need it most.
This year in Miami, we hope to reach 5,760 children with 40,320 pairs of underwear through the Public School Homeless Department and Child Protective Services. That’s a lot of kids who could feel more confident walking into class, trying out for activities, or simply making friends.
If you’re able to give, even a little, you’ll help a Miami kid feel seen, supported, and ready to do their best. It really does make a difference.
