The Smile Trust

For over a decade, The Smile Trust has been a trusted force for resilience, relief, and radical hope in low-income communities across Miami, Atlanta, and beyond.

Born in response to the systemic neglect of the most vulnerable, we’ve transformed crisis into care through a powerful mix of direct service, disaster relief, and community empowerment. From feeding families to building gardens, from hurricane prep to housing justice, we meet people where they are and help them build toward where they want to be.

Our core programs, The Freedom Lab, Smile Day, CEOC Hubs (Community Emergency Operations Centers), Ready.Set.Prep., the Rent Gap Fund, and The Smile Shower Bus. We offer real-time solutions to food insecurity, climate injustice, displacement, and hygiene poverty.

And through our work with youth, volunteers, and grassroots leaders, we’re building a new generation of first responders: prepared, passionate, and rooted in community.

Over the years, we’ve:

• Distributed over 1 million pounds of food

• Served tens of thousands of individuals and families

• Trained hundreds of volunteers in disaster readiness

• Launched CEOC hubs across 4 states and 3 countries

• Prevented homelessness through direct rental assistance

• Created a Climate Fellowship program for students

As we look ahead, The Smile Trust is doubling down on our belief that we are our community's first responder and investing in tools, training, and infrastructure to protect our people from the climate, housing, and economic storms still to come.
