We've Got Awesome Down to a Science!

What if learning looked less like a classroom and more like a skatepark?

What if kids could discover physics by riding ramps, learn engineering by shaping skateboards, and explore marine science while diving with coral restoration teams?

Now imagine walking into The Lab at Surf Skate Science — our new headquarters in Oakland Park. A space buzzing with creativity where surfboards hang beside 3D printers, skate ramps meet maker benches, and students are inventing, experimenting, and dreaming up what’s next.

Imagine it… a Title I student who once thought science “wasn’t for them” suddenly realizing they are a scientist — when they test water quality, farm coral, design a skatepark, or engineer a board that actually works.

That’s what happened to Vince. Vince joined Surf Skate Science as a quiet middle schooler who loved skating but never thought much about school. Then one day, while sketching a mini skatepark for class, something clicked. He saw how math, art, and engineering all came together — and discovered a new dream: architecture.Now, Vince is visiting college campuses and talking about becoming the kind of architect who builds parks and spaces that bring people together.

So that’s why The Lab and these STEAM opportunities for youth here in Miami, Broward and Palm Beach matter.

The Lab is not just a building — it’s a launchpad. A place where our vision is launched for students like Vince learn to see the world differently and realize that their passions can lead to purpose.

And that’s not all…The Lab is surrounded by Title I schools — meaning we’re perfectly positioned to bring hands-on STEM access to kids who might never otherwise get it. 

Through partnerships with University of Miami, Nova Southeastern University, the Everglades Foundation, and more, students get to:
