Sunset Park Elementary PTA

Sunset Park Elementary is an "A" School and has a schoolwide S.T.E.M. program. SPE has achieved
gold designation for the 2021-2022 school year.

SPE has partnered with The Everglades Foundation & adopted its Literacy Conceptual Framework and Everglades Curriculum. We are an Everglades Champion School and have been awarded the Silver Level status for 2021-2022 school year.

SPE has adopted a new mascot this year. Our mascot keeps students engaged and excited about coming to
school. School wide activities like our Fall Festival & Winter Wonderland bring families and the community together.
SPE has also started a Panther Store as a reward/incentive program for students. We are also incorporating design
contests, where students design artwork for all our holiday grams. These activities foster school spirit and
engagement.

SPE has added additional clubs like Panther Volunteer Club, after school sports like soccer & basketball, in addition to activities & partnerships within the community. These clubs and activities help SPE stand out amongst the competition.

One of SPE's goals is to make updates to the school's exterior and interior. The beautification process will include, garden updates, custom window/door wrappings, pavers, courtyard and more.

SPE is a Title 1 school and has the added benefit of a Community Liaison Specialist and a separate Parent Resource Center where Parent Academy Workshops are hosted monthly. SPE also has a very active PTA and group of community partners and dedicated volunteers. We have implemented a Volunteer Chat on WhatsApp adding to parent engagement.

Students are rewarded for their academic efforts through the Panther Store, specified celebrations for highest I Ready Participation, Honor Roll, Student of the Month recognition, and more. This keeps students motivated to achieve their best.
