Pridelines is a grassroots 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, founded by gay and bisexual youth for LGBTQ+ youth, and their Allies, in the wake of televangelist and anti-gay activist, Anita Bryant's, homophobic and hateful 1977 "Save Our Children" campaign. Rooted in a peer-led / adult-facilitated youth discussion & support group model, and with the help of Dr. Marilyn Volker, Peter Meyer, and other concerned adults, academics and professionals, the group began meeting at Miami-Dade College in 1982. In 1999, the group incorporated, moved into its own space, and changed its name to "Pridelines Youth Services". Fundraising and development efforts quickly gained momentum, Health Department contracts soon followed, and programming grew — contributing to the expansion of Pridelines Youth Services' scope of work and geographic reach. In fact, Pridelines was one of the first community-based HIV testing sites in Miami-Dade County. For 41 years, Pridelines' has been providing essential safe space, robust social support, skills-building and leadership development, as well as referral and linkage-to-care services for Miami's most in-need and at-risk youth and community members.

Pridelines’ Mission is to support, educate, and empower South Florida’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning (LGBTQIA+) youth and community, in safe and diverse spaces, to promote dialogue, wellness, and to foster social change.
