FINAL HOURS -- Your gift is TRIPLED if you donate before Dec. 31

Local news is shrinking in America. But with your help, we are working to make hyper-local news thrive.

We go to the local government meetings. We file public records requests. We ask the tough questions so that readers can see what is happening in their neighborhoods, where information matters the most.

Taxes and spending. Schools and Education. Policing and the environment.

Our vision aims at building sustainable hyperlocal news that serves the community.

Donor dollars will go directly into supporting quality local journalism.

Our Current Programs include:

KEY BISCAYNE INDEPENDENT An award winning online nonprofit newspaper serving Key Biscayne  and vicinity, with a focus on accountability, the environement.

*NEW* - Community reporting on local arts, culture and local youth sports

ANTI-SOCIAL RADIO & PODCAST
The Anti-Social program is a public-affairs show that takes trending topics on social media and applies an antidote of facts (and a bit of occasional humor). We focus on local issues but we sometimes take on national topics.

STUDENT REPORTING PROJECT
We partner Craig Newmark Journalism School, as well as local institutions,  help mentor the next generation of journalists

LIBERTY CITY INDEPENDENT We launched this new edition of our operation  in August 2024

Our plan is to expand across Miami-Dade County, establishing sister news outlets, especially in historically underserved areas.

Giving Activity

Mission

We are a nonprofit, independent news organization that gathers and disseminates news about important public policy issues to Miami. Our project will develop strong community journalism and put it on solid footing, allowing us to develop sustainable news gathering. Our mission is real news: transparency and accountability in government, without fear or favor. As our community is threatened by sea level rise, our unique environment will be a distinctive part of our coverage, along with arts and culture. Our first project is in Key Biscayne, but we plan to launch strong hyperlocal news to other communities in Miami-Dade County, especially underserved ones.
