MFP for Democracy: It's a Group Project

Miami Freedom Project for Democracy (MFP For Democracy) supports new Americans on their path to naturalization and full civic participation. Since launching last year, we’ve coordinated over 30 events with 50 partners, reaching 1,600 participants. Our volunteers have completed more than 100 shifts, and our media literacy program produced 80+ bilingual weekly guides for 70+ community leaders. This fall, we launched a 9-week naturalization program preparing residents for citizenship interviews, applied civics, and English practice at a crucial time for our community.

As a proudly majority foreign-born city, we believe diversity is our strength, our vibrancy, our joy. By ensuring recent immigrants have the best possible integration into the broader Miami community, knowledge of existing settlement resources, and understanding what policies best support their aspirations, we can work towards fulfilling the promise of democracy our families risked so much to seek.
