Every journey begins with a single step. One act of service, one encouraging word, one gift of generosity is often all it takes to bring hope where it's needed most. In keeping with Lions Clubs International's (LCI) orientation, our current areas of service focus on pediatric cancer, the environment, hunger relief, diabetes awareness and our flagship project, vision. These Global Causes present significant challenges to humanity, and we believe it's our turn to meet them. We serve with uncommon kindness, putting the needs of our neighbors, our communities and our world first. Our motto: "We Serve".

The Miami Buena Vista-Biltmore Lions Club and its Foundation has been a part of our community's fabric since 1970. The MBVB Lions Foundation started in 2010; however, our club, which created this foundation, will be celebrating 50 years of serving our community. Since its inception our club has taken an active part in the betterment of the community by donating thousands of hours of volunteer service to many causes. We have partnered with area hospitals and Miami Dade College to provide diabetes and vision screenings at health fairs; provide thousands of vision screenings for underserved children - also partnering with Heiken to provide eyeglasses for those who cannot afford it); conducted food drives, adopting families to provide food, and toys for kids at Christmastime; participated at local environmental beach cleanups like Baynanza and other local parks, and Adopt-A-Tree project; conducted annual toy drive (past 15 years) for the Hematology and Oncology Department of Nicklaus Children's Hospital; participated in disaster relief efforts for major storms in the area; and fundraised for more than a dozen Lionistic service projects throughout our District which includes all of Miami Dade, Broward and Monroe Counties.
