Our goal for Give Miami Day this year is to expand community-based instruction opportunities for students and young adults of all ages and abilities.
We want to provide more opportunities for our students to get out into the community and participate in meaningful, immersive experiences. These experiences allow them to develop essential interpersonal and social skills, build confidence and independence, and experience greater inclusion within their community.
To make these opportunities possible, reliable transportation is essential. Our goal is to raise funds to purchase a 15- to 20-passenger bus that will allow us to safely transport students and young adults to community-based learning experiences, activities, and programs.
With the support of our community, this bus will be more than just transportation, it will provide greater access to real-world learning, meaningful connections, and opportunities for our students and young adults to become active and included members of their community.
Learning Links Foundation is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide resources, programs, and information for parents and families of children and young adults with special needs to promote the acquisition and maintenance of appropriate behaviors and functional skills in order to achieve their maximum potential within their family, school, and community life.
