Keep Bleau Green Committee

Keep the Bleau Green Committee (KpBlGC) is a nonprofit organization that operates the Fontainebleau Community Center and is dedicated to protecting the quality of life of Fontainebleau residents.

Keep the Bleau Green Committee (KpBlGC) helps Fontainebleau residents in the following ways:
• provides free hot lunches, exercise classes, and social interaction games, like dominos and bingo, for 95-120 seniors on a daily basis at the Fontainebleau Community Center
• provides in-person workshops that assist seniors in accessing social services and increasing digital literacy
• serves as an information resource, where clients would call for COVID testing and vaccine information
• partnered with two local County commissioners to provide hurricane survival kits
• ensured home delivered meals for existing senior clients as well as drive up food distribution for 500 Fontainebleau neighborhood families during the pandemic
• fights against development projects negatively affecting our neighborhood
• produces a free community newsletter
• communicates with condo associations and other community leaders

The Fontainebleau is a densely populated, 4 square mile low-income neighborhood in west Miami-Dade County with 68,619+ residents, of which over 95% is Hispanic/Latino, and the predominant language is Spanish. Estimated median household income in 2019 was $65,107. The FBC serves hundreds of Hispanic seniors on fixed / low- incomes.
