Kaleidoscope MusArt, Inc.

A nonprofit organization

WHO WE ARE:

Kaleidoscope MusArt  is a Miami-based non-profit organization dedicated to promoting classical music as a relevant and evolving art form, through innovative concert programs and educational initiatives that explore links between new, rarely-heard, and well-known works while prominently featuring emerging artists and living composers.

Our goals are to:

  • Make artistic experience accessible and affordable to a broad and diverse audience.
  • Cultivate the appreciation of classical music among young generations.
  • Support living composers through commissions and calls for scores.
  • Showcase the plurality of styles found in classical music throughout time and across cultures.
  • Support young artists under the age of 18 by creating and facilitating access to educational and performing opportunities.
  • Contribute to building an inclusive classical music community that upholds the principles of equality, fairness, and non-discrimination.

Kaleidoscope MusArt was co-founded in 2015 by composer Rodrigo Bussad and pianists Akina Yura, Inesa Gegprifti,  Maria Sumareva, and Redi Llupa. Current board members include: composer Ermir Bejo; pianists Emiri Nourishirazi, Luca Cubisino; pianist/harpsichordist Andrew Rosenblum; and pediatrician/author/inventor/music lover Dr. Ricardo Lewitus. WHAT INSPIRES US:

As a team of composers and performers, every day we experience a sense of discovery that music can provide infinitely. Wanting to share this experience with more people, we came together as an organization dedicated to fostering a comprehensive and wholesome vision of classical music.

Music cannot live unless it is heard! We believe that contemporary music should be heard on a par with works by well-known masters, because their music was also once heard for the first time. That is why, in 2015, we decided to create a concert series that bridges universally-known works with new or rarely-heard compositions, offering a broader perspective of the history of music and a glimpse into its future by presenting emerging artists and composers.

OUR CONCERTS:

Each concert is presented under a theme that brings together works of different aesthetics and styles. The way each composition relates to the theme is explained in the brief introductory talks. In our experience, this concert format has helped the audience relate to the music on a deeper level.

In the past 4 years we have presented music by over 50 living composers from Europe, Asia, North and South Americas, and the roster continues to grow with every concert.

THE ARTISTS:

A very important part of our mission is to support emerging artists by providing them with a platform for connecting with new music and new audiences. Music never ceases to reveal new dimensions and it is fascinating to see the personal and unique bond that each performer creates with the music. Our artists have distinguished themselves internationally in competitions, festivals, and concerts. They come from all over the world, each bringing their individual and cultural perspectives through their artistry.

WHAT MAKES KALEIDOSCOPE MUSART POSSIBLE HOW CAN YOU GET INVOLVED:

A young organization like ours is especially dependent on the support of individuals like YOU, who recognize the importance and necessity of the arts in society.

Currently, Kaleidoscope MusArt is a purely volunteer-operated entity. We are grateful for the support of our sponsors: the Miami-Dade Department of Cultural Affairs, The City of Coral Gables, Florida Department of State - Division of Cultural Affairs, and The Secular Humanist Fund at the Miami Foundation; and our local partners: Hotel St. Michel in Coral Gables, MIAMI Printing, and El Porteno - Bodegon Argentino, and Media for Change (https://mediaforchange.org/). We actively apply for cultural grants; however, over 40% of our operational budget relies on the support of individual donors.

The production cost of an entire concert season, which includes artistic fees, marketing, venue rental, printing, piano rental and tuning, and other expenses, exceeds the funds available to us through grants and ticket sales. To cover the expenses of the 2020-2021 season, we need to raise a minimum of $6,500 by May 31, 2021.

These funds will be distributed as follows:

$500 => Music Rights License Fees (Royalties to the Composers)

$3,500 => Artistic Fees

$2,500 => Video and Audio Production costs

Thank you for considering a donation to Kaleidoscope MusArt.

Any contribution will make a difference and will help us to achieve our goals.

Please share our story and help us fulfill our mission!

Thank you for your support!
