Health Education Prevention & Promotion, Inc. (HEPP) was founded in 2012 in Miami, FL. HEPP is committed to reducing health disparities within minority communities. It is dedicated to impacting lives through health education, screening, and support. Health Equity is at the core of all HEPP’s services.

HEPP targets African American, Haitian, and other Caribbean communities who often experience a disproportionate burden of preventable disease, death, and disability. Donations to HEPP go directly to serving minority communities. In 2022-2023, HEPP increased its reach to over 1,000 Miami residents with its diabetes awareness program. We have improved diabetes self-management in over sixty residents. 

Additionally, HEPP has provided HIV prevention classes virtually and in-person to over six hundred residents. HEPP’s goal is to increase HIV testing and use of PrEP by providing information and resources that are linguistically and culturally appropriate.

Our Support Program for Haitians with Cancer continues stronger than ever with programs such as our monthly support groups conducted in Creole addressing the emotional and social aspects of cancer survivorship. 

Our vision for equitable health for everyone starts with your donation. Donations from Give Miami Day 2023 will enable HEPP to continue our health educational programs provided in English and Creole. This will also allow us to continue our free professionally led Diabetes Support group in Liberty City providing a safe place where the community can talk openly about their feelings and challenges, they face with their diabetes. 

Contributions will support HEPP’s community outreach and navigation program to overcome barriers to cancer screening, cancer care and resources needed after cancer treatment especially in the Haitian community.
