Hands of God

Hands of God serves those in need by distributing basic necessities such as hot meals, groceries/food boxes, hygiene kits, and clothing. Every year, we conduct two block style parties for families from low-income homes in Homestead, FL. At our Annual Back to School Backpack Outreach, we distribute backpacks filled with school supplies to children, in order to set them up for success for the upcoming school year. In preparation for Thanksgiving, we distribute Thanksgiving meal kits (feeds a family of 4) & turkeys. At both events, we setup various stations for children to enjoy such as: arts & crafts, games, sports, face-painting, balloons, and more. Everyone in attendance is served a hot meal. The goal of those outreaches is to build community as we serve struggling families, all the while sharing the hope and love of Jesus.

In addition, we work with women and children who have been force to flee their homes due to domestic violence. Multiple times a year, we visit a shelter where these families are housed and provide hygiene kits and hot meals.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, we conducted 8 weekly food box distributions where we handed out close to 1,500 food boxes, as well as door-to-door grocery box distributions in food deserts in the Homestead area.

Our disaster relief efforts have led us to serve families in Key Largo & Key West, FL., and in Chattahoochee, FL., after Hurricane Irma. In addition, we served families in Pine Island, FL., Bonita Springs, FL. and Fort Myers, FL. after Hurricane Ian and in Maui after the wildfires. Our relief efforts consist of distributing basic necessities and cleanup supplies as well as helping with cleanup and rebuilding.  We have also served communities after disasters in Puerto Rico, Honduras, the Dominican Republic and The Bahamas. 

Our Global Missions program consists of training and sending teams on short-term mission trips to Central and South America as well as the Caribbean.  We recently took a team of 50 people to Colombia. On these trips, our teams conduct mobile medical clinics, take on construction projects, work with at-risk children and youth, distribute basic necessities and so much more. We currently have an ongoing Discipleship Program in the rural mountains of Honduras which is giving 100 children the opportunity to learn about the Bible.   

In 2023, we distributed a total of 9,363 meals, 1,775 hygiene kits, 259 backpacks, 234 bibles, 270 man hours of construction, 557 patients seen and a total of 31,285 pounds of aid.

Our goal is to expand our community outreach & disaster relief programs by raising funds for a storehouse and the equipment needed to operate at such capacity. This will allow us to accept more donations of in-kind goods and store essentials such as shelf-stable food items, clothing, toiletries & disaster relief tools & supplies.
