Keep Sustainability Education Alive in Our Schools 🌿
For 19 years, Dream in Green (DiG) has empowered South Florida students and residents to take action for a cleaner, more resilient future. Guided by our values of Responsibility, Leadership, Teamwork, and Engagement, we transform environmental awareness into measurable impact.
Through our Green Schools Challenge, students learn science-based solutions to real-world problems—saving energy, reducing waste, and leading change in their schools and communities. Since 2006, the program has reached 104,000 students and 30,000 teachers, saving schools $4.8 million in energy costs and preventing 81.2 million pounds of CO₂ emissions.
Our WE-LAB workshops, in partnership with Miami-Dade County, help households reduce water and energy use. Over 165 workshops have already reached 4,400 local families.
This year, funding cuts threaten these vital programs, just as the need for climate education and community action grows. Your Give Miami Day gift will help us continue empowering youth, training teachers, and building a more sustainable South Florida for all.
💚 Your donation today keeps environmental education thriving tomorrow.
Dream in Green (DIG) was founded in 2006 to address the unique environmental challenges that threaten the future viability of South Florida. Our mission is to empower individuals, especially youth, to lead in the response to climate change and other environmental challenges facing our community. We assist diverse organizations, including schools, households, local governments and businesses to reduce their environmental footprint. Through establishing partnerships in our community, we develop, implement and oversee educational programs and workshops that promote environmentally sustainable behaviors among all age groups, with a particular emphasis on our youth.
DIG is best-known for the Green Schools Challenge, which provides dedicated sustainability education to K-12 students in public and private schools across Miami-Dade and Broward Counties, including some of the most underserved and at-risk communities in South Florida. DIG has directly served over 100,000 individuals.
