About CBC

Since 1999, Children's Bereavement Center® has offered FREE peer grief support groups throughout Southeast Florida, including support for young adults and adults through our Lift From Loss programming. Our weekly support groups are facilitated by mental health professionals, music and art therapists, and volunteers, all of whom have been trained in our model serving over 1,000 participants each year after the death of a loved one.

We also provide grief-informed training and outreach programming in order to reach over 10,000 community members annually, aimed to both support those who are grieving and build grief-sensitive communities.

Our Impact

  • 1,007 individuals have been served in 2024. 14% increase from last year.
  • 2,762 instances of participants have attended groups
  • 96% of group participants reported that CBC services were beneficial to them
  • 9 in 10 group participants would recommend CBC to a family member or friend
