Casa Familia

Nine years ago, around a kitchen table, a group of families realized they shared a common fear: "What's going to happen to my child when I am no longer around to care for them?" This fear turned into a shared dream — a dream of creating Exceptional Housing for Exceptional People.  

Casa Familia is developing the first-of-its-kind enriched affordable housing community for adults with IDD and other related disabilities in South Florida. Through generous support and guidance from public and private partnerships, Casa Familia is proud to announce that construction on our first community has officially begun! Phase 1, the Village of Casa Familia, will consist of 50 spacious one-and-two-bedroom apartments that will provide housing for 60 adults and feature an 11,000 square foot state of the art community center.  

With construction on Phase I underway, we are eager to continue with our vision for our project with Phase II, The Residences, fulfilling our promise to meet the needs of a broad spectrum of individuals including those requiring more supportive services. The Residences of Casa Familia will be co-located in an enriched independent living community. Community programming will maximize self-help/independent living skills, provide greater autonomy, and empower enhanced connectedness, integration, and self-sufficiency.  

The Residences will consist of 4 spacious 6000 square foot houses with six bedrooms each, accommodating an estimated 25 adults. Each resident will have access to their own private bedroom with an ensuite bathroom, central communal spaces, on-site resident staff, and sensory-friendly environments. In addition, each residence will have a spacious, community kitchen with a walk-in pantry, a laundry room with two washers and dryers, upgraded air filtration system, and smart home technology.
