Our purpose as a non-profit is to help provide for services where the need is not being met for therapy or therapy equipment. Bridge Disability's Board of Directors is comprised of a Speech Pathologist, Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Behavioral Therapist and other professionals. Working in the field, we know first-hand the lack of funding available to families. Our clients struggle to pay for therapy sessions or often times drop out of therapy because they can't afford it. Four times per year applications open on our website. Families complete the application and request their most pressing need. Applications are reviewed and scholarships are awarded on a quarterly basis. Deadline dates are February 1st, May 1st, August 1st, and November 1st. Applicants are chosen based on a rubric ranking that considers need of service, insurance availability, and income. Financial assistance is disbursed based on available resources paid directly to the therapy provider of the families choosing. Financial assistance is also disbursed to purchase therapy equipment on behalf to the child.
Here is a testimonial of a family we have helped:
"This scholarship means a lot to us, more than financial aid, it is an opportunity that allows my child to continue his treatment, we feel as a family incredibly blessed. Thank you for making a difference in the lives of the children with disabilities in our community." -Coral Gables, FL
