One Phone Call Changes Everything

Victoria from Venezuela fled domestic violence with her 10-year-old daughter. Arturo escaped guerrilla violence in his home country of Colombia. Jean Paul sought safety in the U.S. after he was kidnapped by organized criminals in Haiti. Ariel from Cuba came to Miami seeking the liberty he did not have under the dictatorship.

They all reached out to us with the same desperate question: "Can you help me?"

Our answer is always YES.

For almost 30 years, we have been the only legal service provider in South Florida providing completely free legal services exclusively to low-income immigrants. No fees. No exceptions. Ever.

Your Impact in Action

175,000+ people served from 160+ countries. Here's how we do it:

🛡️ Emergency Legal Defense - We represent families in immigration court, fighting deportation and family separation.

👥 Community Lifelines – Our free legal clinics reach immigrants who don't know their rights exist.

⚖️ Systemic Change - We challenge unjust immigration policies nationwide.

🏠 Trauma Informed Care – We have specialized programs for human trafficking, violence survivors, and unaccompanied children.

Client testimonials:

Victoria, who survived domestic violence, now has a U Visa. She says, "Americans for Immigrant Justice and the LUCHA Program not only provided me with legal advice and handled my U Visa case, but also gave me moral support and made me feel confident that I was in good hands and that our future was beginning! Without AI Justice’s support, we would not have been able to make such a radical change in our lives. Thank you."

Arturo, who fled violence in Colombia, says “I want to emphasize that Americans for Immigrant Justice is so exceptional because they find a way to move forward with every case. Each case is unique and has a story and they look into all the details.”

Jean Paul, who fled violence in Haiti, says “I had a pro bono lawyer who fought for me, who believed that my life was worth saving. When I told them my story, they took on my case with all their heart, giving me hope and strength not to give up. They didn’t just see me as another case; they saw me as a human being. When I had suicidal thoughts, I thought of them, of their work that aligned with my own dreams, and I found courage. Thanks to them, I was able to get out of detention and start rebuilding my life."

Ariel, who fled the Cuban regime, now has lawful permanent residency. He says, “When I arrived here in Miami, I got in contact with Americans for Immigrant Justice. And from day one, they have helped me with everything. They’ve done an excellent job. I’m so grateful to all the lawyers who were part of this whole process. Without them, I would not have been able to obtain my green card.”
