Miami is one of the world’s most diverse and international cities, and French is part of its story, from France and Canada to Haiti, Africa, the Caribbean, Europe, and beyond.

French is the world’s 4th most spoken language, with 396 million speakers, and the 2nd most learned foreign language, with nearly 170 million learners.

At Alliance Française Miami Metro (AFMM), we believe that language is more than words: it is a bridge that connects people, opens doors, and strengthens communities.

French Language classes and certifications are at the heart of our work, but we are also committed to:

🌟 Empowering Youth

Through our Dis-moi dix mots (tell me ten words) writing contest in Miami-Dade bilingual public schools, our after-school workshops and summer camps, we inspire children and teens to discover new possibilities, build confidence, and connect with cultures that enrich our diverse community.

🌍 Supporting Professionals & Bridging Communities

We provide scholarships for adults learning French to advance their careers and create global opportunities. Our monthly CAfé, Apéro, and After-Work gatherings bring people together, creating friendships and cross-cultural connections.

🎓 Training Teachers, Shaping Futures

We invest in the future of language education by supporting teachers pursuing a master’s degree in teaching French as a Foreign Language (FLE) and providing professional certifications for French teachers in Miami and beyond.

🎭 Enriching Miami's Cultural Fabric

Our virtual and in-person programs bring audiences closer to Francophone writers, artists, historians, curators, scientists, filmmakers, and (of course!) chefs, sharing the richness of Francophone culture with Miami and audiences around the world.
