Mission

Welcome to the GFWC Woman's Club of Historic Overtown Village Inc.

For more than a century, the women of Overtown have been the heart of a community built on resilience, leadership, and hope. Today, the GFWC Woman's Club of Historic Overtown Village Inc. proudly continues that legacy by serving as a catalyst for opportunity, empowerment, and lasting change throughout Historic Overtown and neighboring communities across Miami-Dade County.

We believe that every family deserves access to hope, resources, education, and opportunity. Through the power of volunteerism, strategic partnerships, and community leadership, we connect women, children, seniors, and families with programs that strengthen lives and build brighter futures.

Our organization delivers impactful initiatives focused on literacy, education, youth development, cultural preservation, community wellness, emergency family assistance, holiday outreach, civic engagement, and leadership development. We also invest in the next generation by providing mentorship, volunteer opportunities, scholarships for young artists and leaders, and programs that inspire confidence, creativity, and lifelong success.

What makes us unique is our grassroots approach. We don't simply serve our community—we are part of it. Our volunteers work directly with residents, community partners, schools, neighborhood organizations, and local leaders to identify needs and create meaningful solutions that produce measurable impact.
