We Stand Together, Inc. (WST) was founded in honor of our late founder, Natalie Marc Surpris, who was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer at just 38 years old. Through Natalie’s journey, we gained a deeper understanding of cancer and met many young adults, particularly young minorities, who were also battling this disease. These experiences inspired our mission to raise cancer awareness, particularly in underserved and at-risk communities.
Our Mission in Action
Throughout the year, we host community-focused events like the Blue Hope Colon Cancer Awareness 5K, Community Health Fairs, and the WST Table Talk series. These initiatives aim to educate and raise awareness about cancer, emphasizing the importance of early screenings and encouraging healthy lifestyles.
Providing Support Where It’s Needed Most
We’re committed to supporting individuals and families affected by cancer by:
Celebrating and honoring cancer survivorship
Offering financial support to cancer patients to assist with living expenses
Providing scholarships for college students impacted by cancer
Delivering care packages to patients in treatment centers
Our Programs
WST Financial Assistance Program: Provides emergency funds to cancer patients undergoing treatment or within one year of remission, helping with essential living expenses.
Natalie Marc Surpris Scholarship Fund: Awards scholarships to college undergraduates who have been affected by cancer through their own diagnosis or a parents cancer diagnosis.
WST Table Talk: A conversational and educational event led by a panelist of medical experts, discussing cancer. Providing an in-depth overview of the signs and symptoms of cancer; facts, treatment options, prevention, and shared stories from warriors/survivors and caretakers.
Community Health Fairs: An event to promote and educate on healthy lifestyles, provide free health screenings, and raise awareness about cancer in our communities.
Our Impact
Since launching these programs in 2021, we’ve provided $76,278 in financial support to cancer patients and $19,000 in scholarships to college students in South Florida.
