Miami-Dade County thrives because of the incredible immigrant workers who make our city and our lives possible. Founded in 2006, WeCount! is a non-profit, human rights organization led by immigrant workers and families in South Florida. Our members are the thousands of essential workers who grow our food, cultivate our houseplants, clean and care for our homes, and build our city. Our mission is to transform the living and working conditions of all immigrant workers and advance an inclusive vision of labor, immigrant, and climate justice in Florida.
This #GiveMiamiDay2025, your donation will fuel our grassroots work:
-
Planting Justice: WeCount! is leading a new campaign called Planting Justice (Sembrando Justicia) to win labor and human rights for plant nursery workers in Florida, including fair wages and safe working conditions. We are organizing plant nursery workers, consumers, and allies to bring human rights and dignity to houseplant industry.

-
Immigrant and workers' rights: WeCount! provides health and safety education, legal, social, and health care services and clinics, and other support services to thousands of immigrant workers and families every year. From Que Calor to Build a Better Miami to Planting Justice, we lead some of the most cutting-edge campaigns to expand immigrant and workers' rights in Florida. -
Community radio: WeCount! operates a community radio station, Radio Poder 97.7 FM, that has been featured by the Miami Herald and brings music, education, and know-your-rights information to agricultural workers and families in South Dade in multiple languages, including Spanish, Haitian Creole, and Mayan dialects.

-
Social, cultural, and arts activities: WeCount! hosts social, cultural, and arts activities throughout the year to promote community integration, connection, and belonging in South Florida. We also partner with filmmakers to produce and screen powerful documentaries like Without Shade, Without Rest.

Join us in building a Miami that works for all. Everyone in Miami deserves to live and work with dignity, no matter where they come from. Your donation will help us continue to fight to make that vision a reality.
