Troop of Actors is a cultural organization based in Miami, a city that receives immigrants, mainly from Latin America. The organization was created by artists who emigrated and decided to use their knowledge and experience to build bridges of communication and give a voice to a growing community in South Florida. The shows performed by Troop of Actors tell stories of struggle and hope, stories that rescue the values of minorities and connect them with society. Also, our art workshops offer tools for women, children and seniors to learn how to use expressive resources such as their body and voice for their benefit. Our intention is to prevent isolation and discrimination. We aim to contribute to raising the intellectual and cultural profile of the Latino community. We have a special focus on the elderly, who are probably the most vulnerable sector of the population.

ACTING FOR SENIORS
The work of Troop of Actors is carried out throughout the year through five permanent programs, which are as follows:
LET THE SILENT GENERATION SPEAK
Created in 2020 with the aim of giving a voice to the silent generation, the oldest that currently exists. Since then, the organization has produced and presented a play each year (2020, 2021, 2022) with great support from the community. In addition, and in each of these years it has developed a research project and collection of stories that involves 200 older adults in Miami.
DMEMORY ACADEMY
Program of face-to-face and virtual art workshops created in 2020. More than 30 dramaturgies, acting, stage direction, oral storytelling, art therapy, and acting for life workshops have been offered to the community, both for actors and non-actors, children, adults and seniors.
CUENTEROS CUENTA CUENTOS. ORAL NARRATION
This program created in 2017 emphasizes the importance of reading and collaborates with the preservation of the art of oral storytelling in the new generations. To date it has reached around 2000 children and families in South Florida and has been developed in both virtual and physical spaces, including schools and care centers for the elderly.
ACTING FOR SENIORS.
Cultural and educational program carried out in coordination with 13 Adult Day Care Centers in Miami, with the aim of encouraging creative activity in older adults through body language exercises and brain gymnastics. This project has been running since 2019 and has reached around 200 older adults every week.
STORIES ON SCREEN
This program groups the audiovisual projects of the organization. It began in 2018 with the support of Miami Dade County, with the objective of recording and presenting stories of immigrant families told by children. Eight (8) videos have been produced since then. These videos have been presented and discussed with the community in different public spaces.
Troop of Actors is a non-profit enterprise devoted to acting training and general artistic education. We promote and create events in the performance arts aimed at enriching the cultural life of the community. Our purpose is also to include through the performing and audiovisual arts the elderly, immigrant women, children and minorities who need to express themselves publicly and be heard. We want to provide all members of the community with knowledge of the resources of acting so that they can apply them positively in everyday life.
