The Oliver Foundation

A nonprofit organization

The Oliver Foundation was founded after the death of 12-year-old Oliver Strong, 36 hours after he was diagnosed with leukemia one week after the onset of headaches. We work with Houston's Baylor College of Medicine, part of Texas Children's Hospital, the world's largest medical complex. Our role is to recruit families affected by pediatric cancer for a unique, international online study, www.TheReasonsWhy.Us, an epidemiological survey that includes the collection of saliva and baby teeth. So far we have 600 families. With your support we can reach the tens of thousands that we need to get the evidence to get us a toxic-free environment!

Mission

Cancer is the #1 cause of disease-related death for children and teenagers, soaring nearly 50% since 1975. In Miami-Dade, the rate is 32% higher than the national average, and rising. The Oliver Foundation supports scientific research into the environmental factors driving this surge. #PreventionIsTheCure.
