The Mom Economy to advance their mission of empowering, educating and inspiring Female Business Owners and the communities who support them. Mothers bore the brunt of the pandemic as women scaled back on their businesses and careers to care for their families. TME wants to help support and reverse these negative impacts by bringing awareness to some of the wonderful mom shops, restaurants, and companies in Miami.
Co-founder Brittany Valdes from The Mom Economy shares: "One of the major ways we can support women of color, beyond social media, is with our spending power. Brittany Valdes from The Mom Economy; "That is why our we have pulled together a diverse representation of Miami mother-owned businesses."
This inspiring tour is bringing a street marketing grassroots campaign using a specially curated map, a showcase of mom shops, office spaces, and restaurants all owned by Miami moms. This tour is just one of the many investments we will be making this season. Some of the featured mom businesses include Blanca Concept, Blos-Roses, Bunnie Cakes, Frida, Grown, Miami Twice, Salty Donut, Serendipity, Creamery, Shop My Tribe Boutique, and Threefold Cafe.
Supporting mother-owned businesses has always been The Mom Economy (501) (c) (3) number one priority, and the strength of our collective community is what is going to get us through during this unprecedented time. Founded in 2017, THE MOM ECONOMY is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and innovative movement for a new generation of mothers who are redefining the meaning of work-life balance, parenting and purpose.
All of the proceeds raised will go towards The Mother Fund; grants program providing relief and parental leave for female-owned businesses.
The Mom Economy™ is changing the way women work and redefining career structures by providing women with real business opportunities that are in balance with their personal goals. We accomplish this goal by providing awareness, advocacy, community and funding. The Mother Fund Initiative is raising awareness and funding around parental leave. We think, particularly, now, this mission is especially important, as so many people's livelihoods are being jeopardized with temporary policy fixes
involving paid leave. While our push to make paid parental leave the new standard is a long-term mission, expectant parents (especially Mothers) are in urgent need of support right now. That's why we created the Maternity Leave Fund, our commitment to fund paid maternity leave for families across the US. Our fund will extend $1,000-$3,000 grants to moms without access to paid leave so they can spend time with their children and show how parental leave benefits families, workplaces, and communities.
