Divine Savior School

Divine Savior School envisions schools that provide a community for all of our students.   Each student  is shown love and support in an environment that helps them have a sense of belonging.  The school culture and programs are designed to promote academic, physical, social, emotional, and spiritual growth as well as develop functional, vocational, and life skills.

We do this by supporting students with moderate to severe needs in our local community from three years of age through young adults.  The majority of our students are on the autism spectrum. We provide them with an interdisciplinary team to include educators, behavior analysts, speech therapists, and occupational therapists.  We are blessed to work hand in hand with Divine Savior Academy, DS Therapies, and Divine Savior Church to provide an environment of comprehensive support. 

Three programs are offered to meet the varying needs of our students.  We have our Core program supporting students with more profound needs as well as our Bridge program the supports students from 5th grade through 12 grade that are higher functioning yet still need academic support.  Our most recent addition is our DRIVE program (Developing Resources for Independence and Vocational Education) that serves young adults (16-22 years of age).

We are working to replicate our program in other locations and share our model with other community members to support more students with special needs.

Our student body includes 55+ students in our three programs.  To serve our students, a staff of over 60 individuals support them.  The cost of comprehensive support can be prohibitive for some families.  To defray the cost DSS offers scholarship opportunities that are awarded on an as-needed basis.  Families apply for financial aid through a third-party to help us identify those that most need the support.  Our scholarship fund is utilized to provide these opportunities that range in value from $1500 to over $4000.  Combined with state support, our programs become within reach for many families.
