We are a federally recognized 501 (c)(3) Non-profit Dance organization. Our mission is to share and exchange knowledge of our traditional Andean and Peruvian culture, through classes, workshops, and performances. Our teachers donate their time to teach those interested in Peruvian Culture.
Sumaj Tusuy is a folkloric dance group established in Miami, FL over 20 years ago. We have functioned as a community and volunteer run organization since 2003, providing free dance classes to our local community in North Miami Beach, FL. Our dance group has traveled nationally and internationally to various places, with the goal of sharing and exchanging traditional folk dances of Peru and cultural knowledge. Internationally, Sumaj Tusuy has traveled to Costa Rica, Mexico, and Peru. Nationally, we have traveled to and performed in Chicago, Pittsburgh, DC, Bloomington, and all throughout the state of Florida. We are an organization that seeks to promote a cultural community with an emphasis on the acknowledgement of traditional arts. We believe that individuals in the performing arts have the ability to connect communities, while expressing love for their culture through their talents. Sumaj Tusuy provides dance classes, performances, and workshops to the Miami and South Florida community with tireless energy, love, and dedication since 2003. More recently in 2024, Sumaj Tusuy DMV was formed to continue our mission in the Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia regions.
