Students for Coral Preservation

Students for Coral Preservation (SCP) is a youth-led nonprofit dedicated to protecting and restoring Florida’s coral reefs through education, advocacy, and hands-on action. Founded and run by high school students, SCP has built a network of over 100 students across Miami who are taking real steps to safeguard one of the world’s most threatened ecosystems.

We combine science and community with leading coral experts: from building a 200-gallon coral lab that brings reef research into classrooms, to hosting educational dive programs that are completely free for all students, to student art competitions and public events that make marine conservation accessible and inspiring. Our members partner with leading organizations like Coral Morphologic, Miami Waterkeeper, and PADI AWARE, and have represented youth voices nationally in Washington, DC, and at international forums like the United Nations Ocean Conference.

Every donation fuels youth-driven change—supporting coral labs, educational programs in schools, community art initiatives, and advocacy campaigns that give Miami students a voice in shaping a sustainable future.
