Solar United Neighbors (SUN) is a community of people building a new energy system with rooftop solar at the cornerstone. We help people go solar, join together, and fight for their energy rights. When communities are able to participate in their energy system, it benefits all of us. Through our solar co-ops (bulk purchasing programs) and community education, we’re helping families, small businesses, nonprofits, churches, and municipalities in Miami-Dade County access solar energy. Since beginning our work in Miami-Dade County, we have:
However, there is still so much work to be done to help our community access solar energy. Like the project we're working on right now to help Purple Church Miami install solar. Solar helps families save money on their energy bills, it boosts the local economy, provides good-paying local jobs, it improves grid resiliency and it can keep the lights on during extreme weather if paired with battery storage.
We need the support of donors like you to grow our solar educational and advocacy programs in Miami-Dade County. With a gift from you, we can continue providing solar education in Miami schools, support more families through the process of going solar, and rally more solar volunteers to advocate for great solar policies.
A donation to SUN will enable us to make sure everyone in our community can benefit from producing their own power.
