Harmony in Action: About Our Programs

Artistic Excellence

Celebrating its 28th season, South Florida Symphony Orchestra returns to the New World Center with a captivating lineup of performances that highlight the brilliance and versatility of orchestral music. The season begins on December 7, 2025, with Handel’s Messiah & Holiday Pops, combining timeless choral grandeur with uplifting seasonal favorites. January features Ravel’s sparkling Piano Concerto in G Major and Sibelius’ Symphony No. 2, followed in February by a lively program including Carlos Simon’s Four Black American Dances, the Florida premiere of Nathalie Joachim’s Had to Be, Mozart’s “Haffner” Symphony, and Rimsky-Korsakov’s Capriccio espagnol. March presents Schubert’s bright Overture in the Italian Style, Sibelius’ majestic Violin Concerto, and Dvořák’s jubilant Symphony No. 8. With world-class soloists, exciting premieres, and a mix of beloved masterworks, the SFSO continues to inspire Miami audiences at one of the nation’s most innovative and acclaimed concert venues.

Symphony in the Schools

SFSO is known for its robust music education programs and has reached over 160,000 youth since its founding. This year, 800 Miami-Dade students will be the first to experience an entirely new education program, Freedom: 250 Years of The Declaration of Independence. Through this enriching thematic concert, children explore history and culture while being introduced to the uniting power of orchestral music. Together, we’re inspiring the next generation, giving young audiences the opportunity to grow, create, and connect through music.

Community Outreach

Everyone deserves to experience the joy of live music. Through free concerts and events, we bring the beauty of classical music to Miami-Dade communities. With your help, we can continue to offer these cultural moments at no cost, making music accessible to all.
