Founded in 2017 by three passionate CBS Miami colleagues—Keith Moore, Christine Malcolm, and AnnMarie Henry—Profiles in Black Miami was born from a shared frustration: the noticeable absence of media coverage and resources celebrating Black Miami’s history. What began as a volunteer-led research initiative has blossomed into a committed movement, dedicated to uncovering, documenting, and preserving the invaluable stories of Miami’s Black community.
In 2023, we proudly took the next step, becoming an incorporated not-for-profit organization registered to accept donations. This milestone allows us to expand our efforts, hosting educational forums, conducting in-depth research, and creating accessible resources for future generations.
