About Prodev USA

Prodev USA is the U.S. arm of PRODEV Haiti, dedicated to supporting Haitian students as they transition into the U.S. educational system. With a particular focus on the influx of migrants from Haiti, especially to Florida over the recent years, Prodev USA wants to help these students integrate successfully while preserving their cultural identity.

Building on our mission in Haiti—where since 1995, we’ve worked to improve educational access for underserved children—we extend our support to the Haitian diaspora. Our goal is to ensure that students not only thrive academically and socially in the U.S., but also remain connected to their roots.

In addition to facilitating student transitions, we aim to raise awareness about the severe lack of educational access in Haiti, where many children face barriers to a quality education. By partnering with individuals and organizations, we can make a lasting impact, bridging these gaps and empowering the next generation. Together, we can help create a brighter future for both Haitian students in the U.S. and those still striving for educational opportunities in Haiti.

About Prodev Haiti

Our Story

PRODEV Haiti was established in 1995 by Max Pénette, his daughter Maryse Pénette-Kedar - Haiti former Secretary of Tourism - and Daniel Kedar, to address the gap in educational outcomes for children whose parents could not afford to give them an education.

Context

Over 85% of children seeking an education must attend private schools since there are not enough public schools to meet

children’s needs. In communities where children live below the poverty line, parents spend over 60% of their meager income to

cover tuition and these sacrifices don’t guarantee that children will receive a good education. Additionally, a significant proportion of schools operate without proper licensing.
