Hold the Line Coaliton

Our 20th Year! Since 2004, the Hold The Line Coalition (HTL) has promoted smart growth principles and brought residents into community planning process in Miami-Dade County.  Through education, organizing, and outreach, we simplify a complicated process and provide the public tools for civic engagement. Our approach focuses on connecting residents with experts, providing a space for residents to discuss important issues and get answers, and tracking critical land use changes and alerting residents to potential impacts.  We demystify land use planning in order to empower residents to become advocates for their neighbors and communities in the planning process, and help to build more inclusive, resilient urban planning outcomes.

The Coalition is constantly working to expand and diversify our membership to fully represent Miami's people and geography. Recently, we have recorded significant victories by denying attempts to expand the Urban Development Boundary (UDB). Our entry level action, the Pledge To Hold The Line has more than 1800 signatures and counting.
