Police Officer Assistance Trust

This year, the goal is to raise $30,000 for the Police Officer Assistance Trust “POAT,” and we seek your support.

Your contribution today can assist the POAT fulfill its mission of “Serving Those Who Serve.”

POAT is called upon to assist the families when officers have been killed in the line of duty or and other deaths involving law enforcement officers or their immediate family members.

POAT aids ALL sworn officers in Miami-Dade County from federal, state, county, and municipal agencies.

POAT provides educational support for line of duty survivors spouse and children.

POAT obtains its funding through private and corporate donations, payroll deductions, and various events held throughout the year. POAT depends on volunteers consisting mostly of law enforcement personnel and their families for its fundraisers and events which helps keep administrative costs at a minimum. POAT is a federally recognized charity under Internal Revenue Code 501(c)(3) and all donations are tax deductible. POAT is also registered as a non-profit charitable organization with the State of Florida. To date, POAT has provided more than $8 million in assistance.
