Phyllis R. Miller Elementary PTA: Empowering Every Child

Give Miami Day is our city’s largest annual giving event—an opportunity for people across Miami to support the causes that make our community stronger. This year, we’re asking you to join us in expanding STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) enrichment at Phyllis R. Miller Elementary School, a Title I school in the heart of Miami where curiosity, creativity, and care come together every day.

Our PTA brings together parents, teachers, and neighbors to enrich the educational experience of every child. We serve a vibrant, diverse student body—many from underserved backgrounds—and strive to ensure that every family feels welcomed, supported, and empowered. Through creative programming, advocacy, and inclusive community events, we bridge resource gaps and build a thriving learning environment where every child can shine.

Our Goal This Give Miami day

With your support, we aim to:

-Expand STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) enrichment across all grade levels

-Host inclusive family engagement events that celebrate our students and foster connection

-Sustain our Sensory Garden and other hands-on learning spaces

-Strengthen our advocacy efforts at the local, county, and state levels so every child has the tools to succeed

Together, we can ensure our Title I school community has access to high-quality, engaging learning experiences that spark imagination and inspire a lifelong love of discovery.

Continuing this mission on a regional level, Phyllis R. Miller PTA wants to continue offering family engagement and educational opportunities focused on creativity and enrichment. To further these goals, we ask for your support in expanding our STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) programming. A strong STEAM program is a powerful educational tool in any child-centered learning environment. Through hands-on projects and interactive learning, students are encouraged to explore, experiment, and think critically—building confidence, problem-solving skills, and a deeper understanding of the world around them. By investing in STEAM, we nurture curiosity, innovation, creativity and a lifelong love of learning that prepares our students for a bright future.
