About Robert Morgan High School

Robert Morgan Senior High School is an A-plus, all-magnet high school. Founded in the 1970s and named after Miami businessman Robert Morgan, the school became a full high school in 2002 and earned accreditation in 2007. As a magnet school, Robert Morgan combines rigorous academics with career preparation in fields such as engineering, health sciences, hospitality, arts, and technology. The student body reflects the rich diversity of South Florida — approximately 72% Hispanic/Latino and 20% Black/African American — and every improvement made directly benefits these talented, hardworking young people as well as the community.

The school also offers:

  • Industry certifications
  • On-site automotive, digital media, and engineering labs
  • A vet clinic
  • A restaurant for their culinary arts academy strand
  • Medical clinicals in local facilities such as clinics and nursing homes

Where Is My Give Miami Day Donation Going?

One of the school’s most pressing needs is the replacement of the gymnasium floor.

The gymnasium, part of the school’s original construction, serves as the heart of Robert Morgan’s athletic and physical education programs. Every day, countless students use this space for classes, sports, and after-school activities. In addition to its role in student life, the gym also serves as a designated hurricane shelter, providing safety and protection for members of the surrounding community during severe weather events.

Over time, the gym floor has significantly deteriorated. A new floor would create a cleaner, safer, and more inspiring environment that promotes health, teamwork, and school pride — both for students and for the families who rely on this space in times of need. Physical activity is a vital part of student development — it builds confidence, discipline, and resilience while fostering lifelong wellness habits. Supporting this project means investing in the well-being and growth of Robert Morgan’s students and ensuring that future generations have a quality facility to learn, play, achieve their goals and a safe haven during severe weather events.

The estimated cost to replace the gym floor is $70,000, with additional soundproofing repairs requiring only a modest investment. Your support will help create a safer, more engaging space that strengthens both the school and the wider community.
