PERIOD. works to end period poverty and stigma through direct service, education and advocacy. Nearly 1 in 4 US students cannot afford menstrual products, and many schools do not teach about menstrual health. PERIOD. and its network of hundreds of youth-led chapters addressing period poverty in their communities.
PERIOD.'s education and direct service work comes to life in Miami. Our staff in Miami has helped build a network of dozens of PERIOD. chapters, policymakers, businesses, nonprofit organizations, and period product brands all pushing for menstrual equity in schools and shelters. PERIOD.'s input and presence in Miami is critical to continue the work and leverage the progress we have made already with our community partners.
PERIOD. hosts large-scale local period product distribution events several times a month, pilots stigma-busting curriculum with Miami youth and distributes educational resources to students, educators, caregivers and community partners.
Mission
PERIOD. works to eradicate period poverty and period stigma through service, education and advocacy. We equip and train youth leaders with the resources and training they need to end period poverty in their lifetime.
