South Miami K-8 Center Dance Magnet is a performance-based program designed for students who demonstrate a natural ability and high interest in dance. Students experience an all-encompassing dance education program where they are introduced to the theory of dance history, vocabulary, nutrition, human anatomy as well as staging, costuming/makeup, and performance ethics.
The students put into practice a wide range of dance experiences and activities that enhance their basic movement, technique, discipline, and creativity. Instruction is given in the areas of ballet, jazz, tap, ballroom, choreography and much more.
Throughout the school year, students perform in numerous events, such as our annual Holiday Show, Solo Showcase, and End of Year Show. Our students are committed to community service and participate in service activities such as Blue-Ribbon Showcase, Superintendent Showcase, and various Regional and National Dance Competitions.
Our program prides itself on serving as a pre-professional program for young dancers who are interested in venturing into the professional dance world. Natalya Hall, the director of the Rising Star Dancers, has traveled the world teaching, mentoring and performing for over 30 years. Some of the program's alumni include T.V. personalities, music recording artists, winners of "So You Think You Can Dance", and soloists in modern and dance companies and Broadway performers.

At South Miami K-8 Center Dance Magnet, our mission is to cultivate the next generation of talented, passionate, and disciplined dancers through a comprehensive, performance-based program. We are dedicated to nurturing students with a natural ability and strong interest in dance by providing rigorous training in a variety of styles including ballet, jazz, tap, ballroom, and choreography.
Our holistic approach to dance education integrates technique, theory, history, anatomy, nutrition, and performance ethics, empowering students to grow as well-rounded artists. Through numerous performance opportunities and community engagement, we foster creativity, confidence, and a strong sense of responsibility.
Guided by the esteemed Natalya Hall, our program serves as a pre-professional foundation for students aspiring to pursue careers in dance, the performing arts, and beyond. We take pride in our legacy of alumni who have graced national stages, television screens, and international platforms, continuing the tradition of excellence that defines the Rising Star Dancers.
