Our non-profit organization, Oasis for Haiti’s Children, is dedicated to providing educational opportunities for children in the United States and Haiti to learn about different cultures. We believe that exposure to diverse cultures fosters empathy, understanding, and open-mindedness —qualities that are crucial for creating a more inclusive and harmonious world.
In the United States, we visit local schools and community centers to organize cultural programs, reading workshops, and events on Haiti. Through these activities, children have the opportunity to learn about Haitian traditions, customs, and language.
In Haiti, our children at the Center receive daily nutritious meals. They are now learning gardening skills, making food more accessible to combat food insecurity, and promoting a healthy lifestyle. They also have access to educational resources and programs that promote cultural diversity. Our dedicated volunteers organize English language classes and art projects that enable the Haitian children to explore different cultures and develop a global perspective. They are exposed to learning a variety of sports, compete nationally, and hopefully internationally one day. Oasis for Haiti’s Children aims to create a more interconnected and compassionate world for children from all walks of life.
The ongoing crisis in Haiti, marked by escalating gang violence, continues to devastate lives across the country. In recent months, these dangerous conditions have forced families in Mirebalais to flee their communities in search of safety. Despite these challenges, Oasis for Haiti's Children remains committed to delivering relief wherever we can reach. This year, we are extending support to local schools in Jeremie, a region still recovering from the impact of Hurricane Matthew. In these classrooms, children are eager to learn, yet they lack access to basic educational resources and nutritious food necessary for a healthy diet.
