In a city famous for its abundance—where world-class kitchens plate extraordinary meals every night—there are children in Liberty City who go to bed hungry, elders in Overtown who skip meals so their grandchildren can eat, and families in Brownsville, Allapattah, and Little Haiti for whom the next meal is never a certainty. This is the quiet heartbreak of Miami: the distance between plenty and want is measured in just a few miles. Nourish Miami exists to close that gap. Every week, we recover surplus food from the very hospitality industry that defines this city and transform it into roughly 1,500 dignified, nourishing meals for 900 of our neighbors. We believe that no one who is hungry should ever feel forgotten—and that the same care and craft poured into a five-star dining room belongs just as fully to a family standing in line on a Friday morning.
