ABOUT US
NFUSA (www.nfusa.org) promotes food nutrition and awareness. We believe that you can better appreciate what you eat, by understanding how it is grown. With this vision, we seek to help individuals engage and connect with farming, whether it's visiting restaurants that are truly "farm to table", going to farmer's markets or farms, or giving it a try to grow something in their home (from balcony to backyards). We create content to educate & entertain our members, and promote organizations that are doing great things for the community. Our gardens provide community impact for kids in multifamily communities, seniors in assisted living homes, schools, and churches. Located in elementary schools, workforce housing, assisted living facilities, and at-risk neighborhoods – NFUSA gardens provide community impact that goes beyond access to nutrient rich food. Children learn valuable lessons in STEM and develop ethics on working hard, responsibility, and teamwork. Senior citizens embrace responsibility and purpose from growing and caring for plants. Gardening provides physical and mental exercise that benefits participants and bring the community together. Neighborhood farms bring volunteers and families together to support each other in reducing the burden of food access.
