Although Advocacy has been our main role thus far since start up January 2018, our biggest goal is to receive a boost in funds raised in order to financially assist families of children with Learning Disabilities who find themselves in hardship. The money is used to obtain private services for these children through our list of vendors at a discounted rate of service where private insurances will not cover the costs of these services. The services that the donations will be applied toward are, evaluations, Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Tutoring. We are excited about helping these families get the services their children need to succeed in school and in life!
Mission
Movers & Makers is a Miami-Dade County based 501c3 non-profit organization helping children struggling with learning disabilities receive the help and support they need through advocacy, support and financial assistance for evaluations and therapies in order to excel in the school system.
Schools are often times not forthcoming with information regarding resources available to children when dealing with any disability, not just learning disabilities. We help facilitate communication with the schools in order to accelerate the process for these children so their improvement in academics is noted quicker.
